Movin right along…

8th October 2011

It has been a hectic few weeks once getting the design of the calendars, Xmas Cards and vouchers done, then eagerly awaiting the printing, but it all came together wonderfully, thankfully to Sarah at Castle Designs and Jess.  http://www.castledesign.com.au  Sarah gave birth to her beautiful daughter Lovisa just after finishing Umoja’s website.  Congratulations once again Sarah.  I booked my flights back to Kenya for January, so I need to have the money for the land and van by then to begin the next stage of Umoja’s journey.  I have to have a goal and that is the goal I set.

Late August was a difficult time for me with the passing of a most wonderful friend whom I loved and respected so much.  Over the years this man had inspired me and guided me to believe in myself along with his wife who is such a beautiful, beautiful friend.  His wisdom and kindness are dearly missed.  In the same week my father suffered a stroke and his health has suffered even further.

School holidays came and I was able to take a few days and go away and spend it with my youngest daughter and her partner and visit some very special friends and other family.  Taking my youngest grandson away with me was a bit hectic when he wanted to go home late at night to see his mummy (which was 5 hours away and not happening!).  The rest of the holidays were spent gardening, taking my frustrations out on the overgrown yukkas, looking after my grandsons and fossicking over Barolin Rocks early in the morning with them as the tide came in – making sure Jaxon the terror, was always in my eyesight.  I also helped my daughter who is getting married in April choose her bouquet flowers for her wedding – good thing she already knew what she wanted, as I’m not much good at that.  Thank you Sherrie for your wonderful creativeness in making it for her and helping her choose.  http://www.photographybysherrie-lee.com

My first public speaking event was terribly exciting for me with East Bundaberg Rotary Club on Tuesday 20th September, and had to prepare my presentation for that special event.  I was majorly excited!  I am thankful for my technology skiills.  I felt I did a good job, and I was received well.  I had a small contingent of supporters there, and we had a debriefing afterwards and reflected on how far we’d come in such a short time and where we are heading to on our path to success.  It is amazing how special people are coming into my life to help and guide me with the skills that I need.  Also equally amazing are the people who direct me to other people who help me in some way, even thought they don’t think they are.  I have no doubt my dear friend has something to do with this from the other side and is watching down guiding me.

Until next time – see you on the flip side.
