How can your workplace help Umoja?

We recently received a lovely offer from a new Bundaberg business that would like to donate a percentage of their profits to Umoja on an ongoing basis. This is one of the many ways your business can support Umoja.

Supporting Umoja Orphanage Kenya is an excellent way to achieve corporate social responsibility. A strong CSR program can help your business achieve marketing and publicity objectives. Being involved with a charitable organisation can also help motivate your staff as you all work together to help us achieve a common goal.

Umoja is always looking for corporate support. Company donations help give a huge boost to our fundraising, which helps us achieve our building goals a lot sooner. Our packed donation options can be viewed at http://umojahome.com/kenya/packaged-donations/

Umoja holds many fundraising events each year that require corporate sponsorship. Our annual Gala Dinner (July 20, 2013) and our Golf Day (September 1, 2013) are great opportunities for your business to support our raise the roof appeal and publicise your services to the local community. Contact info@umojahome.com for more information on how to sponsor these events.

worklace givingWorkplace Giving Schemes are another option. Workplace giving is a way to regularly donate to Umoja through automatic deductions from your pay. Your employer must establish a workplace giving scheme and will make donations to our charity from payroll. The ATO has developed a useful guide which can be accessed from http://www.ato.gov.au/content/34483.htm

If no such scheme is available at your workplace, you can set up your own direct debit. We already have many generous individuals who donate a small amount to Umoja each month and say that they don’t even miss it. You can set up a recurring payment by using our online PayPal form http://umojahome.com/kenya/donation-for-for-paypal-payments/

Umoja collection tins are also available to be delivered to your workplace for your customers to donate their change.

Why not bring up Umoja at the next staff meeting or discuss what we are trying to do for orphaned and vulnerable children with your workmates over lunch. Remember, together we achieve the extraordinary.
