To those who shared my journey
I wish to acknowledge and thank all the special people who have shaped the person I am today. Firstly, to my parents for teaching me that hard work and perseverance are the foundations of success.
Secondly, I wish to thank our four beautiful children and their partners for supporting my journey so far, and for filling my life with such love and joy. To my husband who has worked hard for our children and myself all these years, and his family who have always believed in my ability to be strong.
Thirdly, to my sister and husband, and their children and partners: thank you for your unwavering love, support, and assistance. I am also eternally grateful to my extended family, and to my wonderful friends—who often know me better than I know myself.
A final thank you to my gorgeous grandchildren and the smiling faces of the children of Kenya, who have taught me to appreciate the gift of life and the power of the human spirit.
And to the incredible Team Umoja – You too felt the passion to give Kenyan orphans a second chance at life, and joined me to achieve what I believed is possible. TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE THE EXTRAORDINARY
